Cross-country skiing: Triumph Svartedal and Kuitunen

The final of the male competition was incredibly dramatic. At a 1040m high circle with a 25m elevation around the Royal Palace in the center of the Swedish metropolis, the riders were in the lead, with Jens Arne Svartedal having the most power. A silver medalist from the team at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin and last year’s champion of the world at a championship shootout in Sappore, Japan, gave this a triumphant gift to her 32nd birthday (born February 14, 1976). For the twelfth time, this sprinter’s specialist in individual races enjoyed the top-level view. Only 0.2 seconds behind his compatriot, the winner of the qualification Börre Näss, the third finished for the pleasure of thousands of spectators around the whole home of the home Swede Emil Jönsson. At the head of the overall classification, Lukáš Bauer continued to play with the big advantage of Czech, who did not start in the sprints. The red jersey of the best sprinter (little crystal globe) was held by Emil Jönsson.

Virpi Kuitunen launched the A-finals of women as a flash. Thirty-one-year bronze medalist in the team of the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, the world champion, world champion of the high season crystal and the current leader of the overall SP classification, has just made a slight head start and her hellish pace as only the Slovenian Petra Majdikova did. Kuitunen, however, did not let go of anyone in the circle and enjoyed her jubilee 15.Leadership in the ranks of this ranch in career. She secured her position at the forefront of the rating and made another significant step towards defending a rare trophy. Majikova finished second, with a significant distance after the bronze came Japanese Madoka Nacumi, for which it was the first stage placement in SP in his career. However, Slovenian coach Ivana Hudáca, Slovakian Petra Majdičová, will have the right to wear the red jersey of the champion of the competition, which was handed over by Norwegian Astrid Jacobsen, the leading Norwegian rider, in the next snooker (Saturday in Lahti, Finland).

Slovakian representative Alena Procházková in the qualifying took the eighth fastest time. However, in defeating battles, this position did not defend. In its quarterfinals, it finished fourth, and did not score in the semifinal between the top twelve. Eventually, she classified her at the 16th place for which she added another 15 points to her SP account. In the overall classification it dropped from the 28th to the 29th position, the score of the sprinter also dropped by one step – it is fourteen. In the men category, Slovakia was not represented.
